Is Clomid Safe?

Fertility & Birth Control

Dear Dr. Northrup,

I’d like to ask you a question about the fertility drug Clomid. My 33-year-old daughter has been trying to have a baby for more than four years. So far, she has done everything natural to enhance her fertility, including yoga, sugarless diet, acupuncture, and herbal teas. She and her husband have also had fertility tests. She has decided to take Clomid, along with acupuncture and herbal teas. I’m a little worried about her decision. What do you think?

Thank you – M.B.

Dear M.B.,

Clomid has been around a long, long time. And I prescribed it to many, many women (when I was practicing) with no problem. It’s given to help women ovulate. So, in my opinion, Clomid is a very safe, often very effective solution. I hope this puts your mind at ease.

Sincerely – C.N.

    Dear Doctor Christiane,
I am so longing for your answer. I have been under a natural circle of ivf these days. My doctor has prescibed me a medrol 4mg pill every day . I have not been tested for problems that might need this medicine , though. I have been taking it for nine days and in four days I will be taking my first pregnacy test. He is giving it to me in case somethong goes wrong.Could this harm my baby??

    Dear Dr. Northrup.
I am a student in IIN and I loved your lecture, one of the most inspiring ones.
I have a dear friend that has been trying to get pregnant for a while now, the doctors said that she has endometriosis, the case is that 2 weeks ago she did a procedure where the doctor implanted 2 eggs, but it didn’t work, she is completely crushed, because like I said, she is being trying for a long time now.
She is overweight, actually she has been this way for a long period of her life, also is not that she is an alcoholic but she likes to drink, or at least in the past, of course now with all the things that I have learned in the school I wonder if all of this caused the infertility, I would like to help her, to give her some tips, without mentioning to her that I think this is a consequence maybe of bad habits, but how can I do it? what can she do? your advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks, God bless you for your wonderful work.
