Canada Shines Light on Sunshine Vitamin
Vitamin D for colds and flu

Instead of getting a swine flu or other flu vaccine, Dr. Northrup suggests following what our Northern neighbors are doing to truly prevent the swine flu—taking vitamin D. Last year, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) began a multi-year study to see whether adequate vitamin D levels helped to prevent the flu. Although originally designed to study the seasonal flu, PHAC has now modified the study to examine the correlation between vitamin levels and those who contract the H1N1 swine flu virus. Dr. Northrup commends Canada for their forward thinking.

Since 2006, Dr. Northrup has been teaching women (and men) everywhere about the protective, health-enhancing qualities of the sunshine vitamin. Optimal levels of vitamin D (40–80 ng/ml) enhance the creation and functioning of healthy cells throughout the body.

Enhance Your Health
Spotlight Flourish! and November guests

These past few weeks have been especially exciting—as many of you know, my new show on Hay House Radio called Flourish! went live at the beginning of October!

I wanted to try something new, so I invited wellness experts and some of my favorite authors to join me on the program. I hope you were able to listen in when conscious living expert Gay Hendricks, relationship counselor Joan Heartfield, and Biology of Belief author Bruce Lipton passed on their insights in October. If not, visit the audio archives and hear their thoughts on how you can truly flourish in your daily life.

This month, I have the great pleasure of discussing some of my favorite topics with another group of extraordinary minds:

On November 4, I’ll welcome one of my favorite authors and a dear friend, Dr. Wayne Dyer! Wayne and I collaborated on Inside-Out Wellness, and I’m delighted to be working with him again. We’ll talk about transforming your self-defeating, limiting thoughts and habits to create the joyful, prosperous life you desire. This will be a wonderful opportunity to begin releasing patterns that do not serve your greater purpose, health, or livelihood.

On November 11, Frank Lipman, M.D., author of Spent: Revive—Stop Feeling Spent and Feel Great Again will be my guest. Most of you can relate to that feeling of being “spent,” knowing that you’ve overexerted your energy and feel plagued with exhaustion, insomnia, and general aches and pains. If this speaks to you personally, or if you know anyone experiencing a feeling of general unwellness, I think you’ll really benefit from my talk with Dr. Lipman. We’ll discuss the “Symptoms of Spent” and offer solutions to rejuvenate your being!

On November 18, clinical psychologist Doris Cohen, Ph.D. will be my third and final guest for November. Dr. Cohen is the author of one of my favorite books, Repetition: Past Lives, Life, and Rebirth. We’ll be talking about dysfunctional relationships and situations that we all seem to fall into time and time again, throughout our lives. We’ll talk about ways to recognize these “repetitions,” learn to embrace and love those parts of us that are calling out for our attention, and healthily move forward to a place of peace and understanding.

As you can see we have a terrific lineup for November. I hope you’re as thrilled as I am at this opportunity to come together and speak practically and pleasurably about our wellness.

Flourish! is broadcast live on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Hay House Radio, and I would be delighted if you could find time to join us.

As we approach the holiday season, I urge you to remember to spend some time loving and appreciating yourself for all that you do—you are loved! Flourish! can help you do just that.

“Your fertility is not a disease,” says Dr. Northrup. Though taking the pill is an effective method for birth control, she reminds us that it contains synthetic hormones not found in human bodies, can decrease your libido, and sets your pelvis on autopilot.
