I’d love some advice on how to wean myself off of my acid reflux medication. I have been on oemeprazole or Dexilant for more than 15 years. If I try to stop taking the medication the acid reflux comes back with a vengeance. It’s almost more suffering than I can take! It’s horrible. Additionally I have a hiatal hernia which may complicate the issue. When I express my concern to doctors about whether I should continue this medication they say this is the only way (best way?) to not suffer from acid reflux and have a better quality of life.
