As humans, we tend to seek consistency in our beliefs and actions. When we have two conflicting thoughts at the same time, or when we engage in behavior that conflicts with our beliefs, we are apt to feel a sense of discomfort. And, if you’re like most people, you feel a need to resolve it. Why? It’s called cognitive dissonance and everyone experiences it to some degree.
